Rustic Ranch Retreat

This unique interior project was designed around a natural and rustic theme evident throughout the home. The home’s interior was constructed with re-sawn board and batten wood walls, Douglas fir tongue and groove ceilings, and wood floors throughout. The Client had expressed concern that the existing Guest Suite felt small and confined. The two existing stand-alone closets were awkward and did not integrate well into the bedroom. Although the Clients liked the free standing tub, their existing tub/shower combination on a raised platform presented a tripping hazard and leaking issue with only a curtain enclosure. In addition, the Clients expressed concern that the bathing and bedroom areas seemed unrelated to one another. They desired a more cohesive flow and better functional use of space. The Clients’ love of nature, natural wood, and art were important elements to be integrated into the new design.
